There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Will children of the future be taught solely by a computer? That could be a possibility, according to Google's vice-president of research Alfred Spector.
He said he thinks apps and technologies that are widely derided as being distracting could actually improve how we learn.
And he says this may lead to a future where students do not need to go to school in order to get a formal education.
