Overview

On 12/17/14, 2014 President Obama announced a series of diplomatic and economic changes regarding U.S. policy towards Cuba. That announcement was followed up on 1/16/15 with a Federal Register Final Rule that provides the specifics of how U.S. businesses can begin to engage commercially with the island nation.

Spearheaded by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control and the Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry & Security, these changes offer vast opportunities for U.S. businesses that are interested in the Cuban market.
