Full Summary: No summary paragraph submitted.

A lecture by Suzanne Eberle, professor and chair of the art history program at Ferris State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan will open the Drawing from Nature exhibit in the Stubbins Gallery. The exhibit is a collection of student work done by undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the School of Architecture's Drawing from Nature class. This class is part of the Innovation and Design Collaborative (IDC) and has had students from a wide variety of majors across campus -- from aerospace and biomedical engineering to city and regional planning.

The lecture is titled "Wondrous Beauty, Astonishing Engineering: Alternative Ways of Knowing the World."   In this presentation, we will look at some of the lively historical intersections of science and design, art and technology, professional practice and philosophical concept -- intersections which provide us with exciting interdisciplinary models for reclaiming curiosity and wonderment, and engaging deeply with the world.

The exhibition will run from March 11 through April 3, 2015. The lecture will be in the Reinsch-Pierce Auditorium at 6 pm on March 11.
