There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Paul Puey of Airbitz (a Bitcoin wallet and business directory app) will be giving an introductory talk about Bitcoin explaining the basics of what it is, how to get started sending and receiving Bitcoin, and where to get your first Bitcoin. On that last part, airbitz has generously offered to give new users that try out the airbitz Wallet 10 mBTC. After the introductory talk, we'll break to give time for new people to install a Wallet and ask questions, and Paul will give a more advanced presentation on wallet security, privacy, and ease of use.
