Since attending Georgia Tech herself, Lara Hodgson has launched product and service businesses, raised capital, and served in executive management roles with Nourish, Insomnia Consulting LLC, Dewberry Capital Corporation, DCH, Dunk, and iXL, an Internet development company. Lara has extensive experience in brand development, corporate strategy, business development, marketing, and operations, and has worked with companies such as Nike, Coca-Cola, The Home Depot, Keds, and others.
Lara received an MBA from The Harvard Business School and a Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering with highest honors from Georgia Tech where she was a scholarship member of the Varsity Track team, was named one of the top 20 students in the U.S. by USA Today, and was selected to study in Japan with the U.S. Department of Defense. Lara also served as the Ambassador to Lebanon for the 1996 Olympic Games.
Ms. Hodgson currently serves as an appointee of the Governor to the board of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority and the Regional Transit Committee, is an adjunct lecturer in finance at Georgia Tech’s graduate school of Management, and serves as a founding Board member of Atlanta Heights Charter School. Lara has also served on the Boards of Flag Bank, Society of International Business Fellows, Central Atlanta Progress, and Georgia Tech’s Alexander Tharpe Fund.
Recently, Georgia Tech Athletic Association honored Lara with the Total Person Alumnus Award and Alumnus of the Year by the Georgia Tech Women in Engineering. Lara is a member of the Georgia Tech Young Alumnus Hall of Fame and is an internationally recognized speaker on innovation and creativity.
Hodgson will speak at Georgia Tech's IMPACT Speaker Series on Wednesday, March 4, 2015.

Since 2002, the IMPACT Speaker Series has brought highly successful business leaders from a variety of industries to campus to share their experiences and give advice to students and other entrepreneurs on topics ranging from "building a venture around intellectual capital" to "successful entrepreneurship in large organizations" and "socially responsible leadership". The weekly series provides Georgia Tech students, alumni and the Atlanta business community an opportunity to network and learn from successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and notable business and non-profit leaders.The lecture is sponsored by the Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship.
The series is free and open to the public, reservations are not required.
