Georgia Tech Alum Willie Tillery co-founded Accelarad in 1999. At the time, he recognized an opportunity for cloud technology in radiology. Due to his vision and leadership, today Accelarad's network covers more than 1,700 facilities and hosts the exchange of over 400 million medical images annually.

Willie earned  his Masters of Science in electrical engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, specializing in digital signal processing and telecommunications. Prior to that, he received his B.S. summa cum laude in electrical engineering from North Carolina A&T State University.

Currently, Tillery works as the Director of Image Sharing Services with Nuance Communications, an American multinational computer software technology corporation that focuses on developing the most human, natural, and intuitive ways to use your voice to take command of information. Their company has pioneered the highest functioning speech software in the world, ceaselessly perfecting the ability for machines to recognize and emulate the human voice. They design and deliver technologies that intuitively link man, machine, and the global storehouse of knowledge to help companies and consumers work seamlessly and intelligently with the world.

Tillery will speak at Georgia Tech's IMPACT Speaker Series on Wednesday, March 11, 2015.  

About the Impact Speaker Series:

Since 2002, the IMPACT Speaker Series has brought highly successful business leaders from a variety of industries to campus to share their experiences and give advice to students and other entrepreneurs on topics ranging from "building a venture around intellectual capital" to "successful entrepreneurship in large organizations" and "socially responsible leadership". The weekly series provides Georgia Tech students, alumni and the Atlanta business community an opportunity to network and learn from successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and notable business and non-profit leaders.The lecture is sponsored by the Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship.

The series is free and open to the public.
