All admitted MS-HCI students are invited for a two-day visit to learn more about Atlanta, Georgia Tech and the MS-HCI degree. The preliminary schedule is:

Wednesday, March 25

  • Check-in at Hotel Indigo
  • 7:00 to 10:00 - Informal gathering in Hotel Indigo lobby restaurant/lounge for late dinner/snack/drink/talk with current students

Thursday, March 26

  • 8:30 - Breakfast at TSRB (Technology Square Research Building), 2nd Floor
  • 9:00 - Welcome and overview
  • 9:45 - Panel discussion with current students
  • 10:45 - Tours around campus with current students
  • 11:30 - 1:00 - GVU Brown Bag Lunch, speaker TBD (past speakers include Bill Buxton and Thad Starner)
  • 1:00 - 5:00 - Class visits
  • 4:00 - 5:30 - Chat with faculty and current students
  • 5:30 - Social time with current students; fun and games
  • 7:30 - Dinner with current students, faculty and alumni

Friday, March 27

  • 9:00 - 5:00 - Class visits
  • 11:30 - 1:00 - Panel of Atlanta-area UX professionals, including GT MS-HCI grads

Saturday and Sunday, March 28-29

  • Visit around Atlanta with current students to learn about neighborhoods, living options, and night-life
