The Georgia Tech Faculty Women’s Club (GTFWC) will award five scholarships of up to $1,500 each for the 2015-16 academic year.
Applicants must be Georgia Tech undergraduates and have a parent or guardian as a permanent Tech employee. Applicants also must have completed at least one full semester at Tech; have an overall GPA of at least 2.75; and write an essay describing his or her academic plans, involvement in extracurricular activities, and reasons for needing financial assistance.
Since 1990, the GTFWC has awarded 143 scholarships totaling $111,050 to support undergraduates.
“We are very proud that the Club has been able to raise the money to establish this scholarship fund,” said GTFWC Scholarship Chair Marylou Foley. “Georgia Tech is really one big family, so by awarding scholarships to children of the people who are dedicated to making Tech the great place it is, we really are helping our ‘family.’”
The deadline to apply is January 20, 2015, and the scholarship committee will make its selections in February.
