"Biomaterials for Immunoengineering"
Julia Babensee, PhD
Associate Professor
Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering
Georgia Tech
Our research is in the area of engineering inflammatory and immune responses. Our research is directed at defining design criteria for new biomaterials with improved host responses through a fundamental understanding of the in vivo failure mechanisms of current biomaterials. The focus of our research is on understanding biocompatibility and immune responses in the context of combination productions by integrating biomedical engineering principles with state-of-the-art immunology.
