When it comes to academic and career development, many students choose an international experience to complement their regular classroom activities at Georgia Tech. This week, Tech will celebrate those experiences through International Education Week.
This joint venture of the U.S. Department of State and Department of Education is an effort to increase the global perspective of students so that they can be ready for an international work experience.
"International Education Week is a celebration of international education endeavors that is meant to encourage more, and deeper, global engagement," said Amy Henry, director of International Education at Georgia Tech.
From study abroad to foreign exchange, about 48 percent of Tech’s undergraduate student body participates in an international learning experience. These popular programs, along with an internationally diverse student body that makes up 21 percent of the student population, help Tech cultivate a global society of scholars who are keen on the development of an international workforce.
International Education Week (IEW) runs from Monday, Nov. 17, through Saturday, Nov. 22. The week will include cultural activities and information seminars that address what it means to be part of a global society and provide students with information about opportunities to engage in international education at Tech.
