The Stephen C. Hall Building, which houses the Writing and Communication Program in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication, has attained LEED Gold status.

LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a green building certification program developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. The LEED certification is recognized across the globe as the premier mark of achievement in green building.

Built in the 1920s, renovation of the Hall building was completed in 2010 and dedicated in the name of 1967 Tech graduate Colonel Stephen C. Hall marking over 30 years of support for the Institute.

The new LEED certification is an indicator of Georgia Tech's commitment to sustainable practices in designing, constructing, and maintaining buildings and communities across campus.

Hall is the second Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts building to achieve the LEED Gold award. Old CE, which houses our Schools of Economics and History, Technology, and Society, earned Gold status in 2010 after renovation focused on LEED guidelines for energy savings and sustainability measures.  Congratulations to the renovation team!
