Full Summary: High school students spend the day learning what a day in the life of a college student is like

The Georgia Tech student organization FirstGen sponsors Shadow Day for high school students to learn about the benefits of attending college. This is not a recruitment event, but an opportunity to educate prospective first generation college students about college and higher education in general. Read about Shadow Day 2013. 

The event agenda includes:

  • What Can An Education Do For You? workshop
  • How To Apply for College workshop
  • How You Can Pay for College workshop
  • The College Experience Student panel: current Georgia Tech students sharing their experiences and answering questions about the college experience
  • See For Yourself Shadowing: each high-school attendee will be paired with a current Georgia Tech student for 2 hours. During this time, the students will be able to sit in on classes, tour dorms/campus apartments, visit common areas, and experience life in the day of a college student.
