Full Summary: The inSight Conference aims to raise discussions about the world scenario preparing a generation of global leaders.

Georgia Tech is an institute that strives to graduate exceptional global citizens. Its partnerships with different universities throughout the world, reflected by more than 120 international programs, and its student body of around 9% of international students, corroborate this statement. Furthermore, around 60 cultural organizations on campus bring knowledge about different places in the World through cultural events. However, the Brazilian Student Association (BRASA) believes that to be exceptional global citizens, students need to acquire more than cultural knowledge from all over the world, they need to be aware of its economy, politics, society and scientific knowledge. In order to raise this awareness, discussions are essential.

To provide and encourage these discussions at Georgia Tech, BRASA wants to introduce the inSight Conference. This conference will feature speakers from the academy, industry and government, providing the audience with a broad and insightful view of a chosen country or world region.  In the last years, Brazil has established a place for itself in the world scene, becoming the 7th largest economy in the world. After a global financial crisis in 2008, it recovered much more quickly compared to other countries due to its substantial industrial and agricultural exports, among other reasons. Its economic rise has increased its influence in international forums and has led to its successful model for cooperation between developing countries.  In addition, being chosen as the host country for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games has put the country firmly in the international spotlight. Considering all those reasons, and taking into account the fact that Brazil is the home of most BRASA students, we want to choose it as the first country to be addressed by the inSight Conference.
