There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. On October 21st, 2014, Dr. Rachel Ivie will give a talk on global survey of physicist, career in physics, women physics, and impact of P&T on men and women in physics. Dr. Ivie is the Associate Director of Statistical Research Center (SRC) at American Institute for Physics. She received her PhD in sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel hill, where she specialized in research methods, statistic, gender, and the life course. Before joining the SRC, Dr. Ivie was a professor of sociology and taught various courses to undergraduates, including the sociology of gender and research methods. Over the past ten years at SRC, she has specialized in studies of the workforce and diversity in physics.
