A native Virginian, David N. Laband received his Ph.D. in economics from Virginia Tech in 1981. He is the author of 9 books and over 130 articles in peer-reviewed journals. His research and teaching interests cover a wide range of topics related to economics and policy. Dr. Laband has been an occasional contributor to the Wall Street Journal and other major North American and regional newspapers. Prior to joining Georgia Tech’s School of Economics in 2012, he held faculty positions at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, Clemson University, Salisbury State University, and Auburn University.
