Dr. Rozell is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research interests are interdisciplinary, primarily focusing on the intersection of signal processing and computational neuroscience. He believes that understanding bioloigical sensory systems can direct us to new approaches in signal and image processing. On the flip side, innovative data analysis techniques from statistical signal processing and information theory are needed to help understand complex sensory systems. The results of Dr. Rozell's research are directed at many application areas, including sparse approximation, dynamical systems, information processing in wireless sensor and actuator networks, experimental and theoretical neuroscience, and nanosensor devices.
