Written in collaboration with William B. Rouse, Humphreys Chair in Economics of Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology, the book examines how to design a system that can provide high-quality, affordable healthcare for everyone.
Using an engineering perspective, Rouse and Serban introduce concepts, principles, models, and methods for understanding and improving healthcare delivery. They argue that understanding healthcare delivery as a complex adaptive system will help us to design a system that is more efficient, effective, and equitable.
