The Kentucky Rifle Foundation has produced a historical presentation on “The Importance of the Kentucky Rifle in the Development of Our Country,” that includes:
Henry I. Bishop and Wayne Elliott are long-time students and curators of the American longrifle. They have published several articles and books on the subject. Mr. Bishop was the founding president of the Kentucky Rifle Foundation and is responsible for the publication of a number of books on the longrifle. Furthermore, in the case of Mr. Bishop, he personally witnessed the effectiveness of the longrifle in the struggle for independence during the late 18th and early 19th centuries, whereas Mr. Elliott has studied that era and stands in awe of his elder colleague. Both are Georgia residents.
Highly prized examples of this early American art form will be available for viewing at the event. This is a rare opportunity to view guns from private collections.
