"We buy it, we bury it, we burn it and then we ignore it." Does anyone think about what happens to all the trash we produce? We keep making things that do not break down.

But what happens to the billion tons of waste each year?

The British and the German Consulates General of Atlanta are joining for the first internationally organized

British-German Climate Day

on Tuesday, September 9th 2014, 5pm to 9pm at the Historic Academy of Medicine at Georgia Tech

On behalf of both Consulates General we kindly invite you to a reception and screening of the award-winning documentary "TRASHED", featuring Jeremy Irons and a post-screening discussion on the issues of waste management and sustainability. Learn what is already under way in the Metro Atlanta Area and the Southeastern United States and share your ideas for more.

If the screening peaked you interest, you might like to attend the workshops and panel discussions to follow on September 10th at the MaRc Auditorium at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Here we offer you the unique opportunity to engage with experts from media, corporate and civic organizations and exchange ideas about solutions that can bring about the changes we seek in our everyday lives.

We will serve a light lunch to conclude this year's event and give you the opportunity to network with experts and fellow thinkers alike.

Since these events are entirely free, but have limited capacity, we kindly ask you to RSVP to pr-hosp2@atla.diplo.de.
