We couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming 2014 North Carolina Planning Conference in Durham! The area has seen many major changes since the conference was held here last. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience these changes and the revitalization of the city with the sessions, tours, and activities that have been planned.  Durham will also provide the perfect setting to inspire participants and empower them with fresh ideas to take back to their communities.

 

The conference is scheduled to take place October 1-3 at the Durham Convention Center.  This year’s conference is focused on the theme: “REINVENTING.” Attendees will have the opportunity to gain information and insight from presenters in the following session tracks; Age Wave Planning, Engagement, Land Use Policy, Metrics, Street Life, and Transportation. The Conference will feature over 32 concurrent sessions including lightning rounds, networking opportunities, vendor displays, and mobile tours of Durham by foot, bus and bicycle!  The Conference will kick-off with an opening reception Wednesday night at The Cotton Room. The Cotton Room is located in the Golden Belt District of Downtown Durham. This beautiful reception venue will showcase timeless architecture and demonstrate the unique revitalization of the former factory. The Conference will wrap-up Friday morning with an interactive ethics session and an exciting closing session.  So please join us for what promises to be a dynamic, informative and fun conference.
