Full Summary: Help pack kits of supplies for women and children at the Atlanta Mission's Atlanta Day Shelter.

All students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in a campuswide service project to pack kits of supplies for residents at the Atlanta Mission's Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children.

Donations have been collected throughout the summer and will now be packed into "critical needs" kits and "job" kits.

Donations can also be brought to the event itself. The Atlanta Day Shelter has requested the following items to fulfill the shelter’s most pressing needs in August:

  • Shampoo (travel size)
  • Conditioner (travel size)
  • Lotion (travel size)
  • Bar soap / Body wash (travel size)
  • Body Spray / Perfume (travel size)
  • Ziploc Bags (Quart sized)
  • Spiral Notebook (8.5 x 11)
  • Journal (lined)

The mission of the Atlanta Day Shelter is to ease the burden of homelessness for women and children and to assist in establishing self-sufficiency by providing comprehensive education and supportive services in a manner that respects human dignity. Since its founding in 1984, ADS has served as a daytime resource center and safe refuge for homeless women and children in the Metro Atlanta area. In 2011, ADS served 4,618 individuals; over 70 guests shower at ADS daily. Your donation makes a difference!
