The Journal of Development Economics published an article by Dr. Olga Shemyakina, of the School of Economics, and Dr. Camelia Minoiu of the IMF. The paper, “Armed Conflict, Household Victimization and Child Health in Côte d'Ivoire”, finds that children exposed to armed conflict in Côte d'Ivoire were shorter than children not exposed to it, and that economic victimization was the primary channel of the shock’s transmission.
