The Language Institute offers four-week courses designed for international visiting scholars and postdocs. GT visiting scholars and postdocs are eligible to receive one course waiver to allow one free class. 

To register, complete the online application at esl.gatech.edu/esl/short-courses and submit with copies of your passport (with visa page), DS-2019 (if applicable) and BuzzCard. 

American Pronunciation
  • Aug. 19 – Sept. 11, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:35 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. In this course, you will learn what aspects of your pronunciation may be interfering with how well others understand you. You will learn strategies and techniques that you can use to make your pronunciation easier to understand for listeners who may not be familiar with inter-national accents. 
Improving Your Oral Skills
  • Sept. 16 – Oct. 9, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:35 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. In this course, you will actively develop both your abilities and your confidence to accurately and appropriately express yourself in extended and or difficult common personal and formal conversations.
