There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. The Georgia Tech Veterans Day Committee invites the community to join its planning efforts for the 2014 commemoration.
Activities being discussed include participating in the Atlanta Veterans Day Parade, a campus ceremony, a lunch sponsored by Sodexo, a social event sponsored by Georgia Tech Military Affinity Group, and working with Georgia Tech Athletic Association to honor veterans at a football game.
Committee members represent a wide range of organizations on campus, including Andy Altizer (Veterans on Campus Employee Resource Group), General Philip Breedlove (Alumni), Tom Horton (Georgia Tech Military Affinity Group), Scott Gilliam (Georgia Tech Student Veterans Association), LT Will Jourdan (ROTC), Joseph Meadows (Facilities), Dave Ross (Veterans Resource Center), Dr. Jim St. John (Faculty) and Gena Snead (Registrar's Certifying Official).
The committee meets monthly; the next meeting is scheduled for July 24. Veterans Day is Nov. 11. Contact one of the committee members if you have ideas or contact Andy Altizer to attend the next meeting.
