Spring has sprung and Georgia Tech Dining Services is springing into action as we end a fantastic 2014 spring semester. This semester, we took our students around the world and back with our culinary creations. We offered a variety of new events, including four course meals that featured Italian, Brazilian, Australian and American cuisines. These special events and offers are all part of our strategic plan to make sure our students consistently see variety when they dine with us.

The unique meals presented did not stop our efforts in helping students make healthier dining choices. This spring, our Mindful meals and entrées were a huge success on campus and we highlighted these meals with our first ever Nutrition Food Fair. Our Mindful meals filled your student’s plate for fewer than 600 calories through the use of more vegetables, fruits, whole grains and less fat. We even whipped up Mindful desserts that have fewer than 200 calories and at least 1g of fiber.

Another huge offering this spring was that, for the first time ever, we brought food trucks to campus, providing students with an even wider selection of delicious food items. What made the food trucks on campus even better was the fact that all food trucks accept Dining Dollars, which saved each student 8 percent sales tax on every purchase.

If your student is taking classes this summer, and you want to make sure he/she is eating healthy, take advantage of our plethora of choices by signing them up for a meal plan today at www.mealplan.gatech.edu. For the students who are not taking classes this summer, Georgia Tech Dining Services is looking forward to serving them again when we welcome them back in the fall of 2014.
