There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Dr. Jason W. Ellis, a second-year Brittain Fellow, and Wendy Hagenmaier, Georgia Tech Library Digital Collections Archivist, co-presented a paper on “Digital Archives and Vintage Computing at Georgia Tech” at the Second Annual Southeast Vintage Computer Festival: http://www.vintage.org/ .
Their paper explored the challenges of vintage computing research, pedagogy, and archival work, and they argued how the library can reimagine our past to meet the challenges of the present and future by providing vintage computing access, research, and teaching through collaboration, acquisition, space allocation, university/private sector coordination, public outreach, and on-going support. You can learn more about their presentation and watch a Google Glass demonstration relating to vintage computing research here: http://wp.me/p3Tri-1lq .
