Last month, eight undergraduate students represented Georgia Tech at the 9th annual ACC Meeting of the Minds Conference hosted by The University of Pittsburgh. The conference, which is funded in part by revenue generated from athletic events by the member institutions of the Atlantic Coast Conference, is an opportunity for selected undergraduate students to present their research and scholarship in a professional setting and meet fellow students from peer universities. Approximately 100 students attended the event from 40 different disciplines.
The following Georgia Tech students gave impressive presentations.
Priya Bajaj (Electrical and Computer Engineering) Object Discovery Services for Cryptographically Curated File System
Hongfan Chen (Industrial and Systems Engineering) Robust Optimization in Power Reduction Scheduling with Demand Response Strategy
April Martin (History, Technology and Society) Too Big a Storm: The Complicated Atmosphere Around Women’s Sexual Problems
Mohamad Ali Najia (Biomedical Engineering) Allele-Specific DNA Methylation and Monoallelically Expressed Genes
Chang Pyo (Earth and Atmospheric Sciences) Development of a Scanning Flow Thermal Denuder for Air Quality and Climate Applications
Sara Tuell (Mechanical Engineering) The Effects of Tumor Growth On Lymph Node Mechanics
Elizabeth Warden (History, Technology and Society) The Power to Keep Them Apart: The Reinforcement of Gender Stereotypes in Prescription Direct-To-Consumer Advertising
Haoxiang Yang (Industrial and Systems Engineering) A Bayesian Methodology of NCAA Basketball Bracket Prediction Improvement
The Meeting of the Minds Conference is an excellent opportunity for students to hone their presentation skills – ones that will serve them well during and after college.
