Africa Atlanta 2014 is an exciting event with an opening that officially kicked off Feb. 28 with  the exhibition “Mapping Place: Africa Beyond Paper.” The Atlanta opening is a collaboration between the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts and the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum.  The event features “KONGO across the WATERS,” a magnificent art collection from the Royal Museum of Central Africa.

An array of  nearly 50 activities are already underway and encompass art and museum exhibitions, cinema, conferences, performances, and workshops.

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed is the honorary chair of the Africa Atlanta 2014 International Advisory Board.
