There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Students areencouraged to attend "Reflections on the Crimea Crisis" this Monday, April 7th. This event, sponsored by the School of History, Technology, and Science, and the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, will feature British Consul General Jeremy Pilmore-Bedford.
Pilmore-Bedford’s knowledge of Eastern Europe dates back to 1995-1998, when he served at the British Embassy in Moscow. He later advised London policy makers on the Russian economy. From 2004-2006 he managed the Foreign Commonwealth Office (FCO) in Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and the Baltic states, and oversaw democratic reform efforts in Ukraine during the Orange Revolution. From 2006- 2009, he served as a FCO policy advisor and Deputy Head of Strategy for Russia.
