Workshop on Photovoltaic (PV) Materials

*********************************
There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Summaries

Summary Sentence: This workshop aims to identify opportunities for growth and collaborative research in photovoltaic materials within the he Georgia Tech scientific community.

Full Summary: No summary paragraph submitted.

Photovoltaic (PV) technologies have been an on-going research focus for Georgia Tech for more than 30 years.  The goal of this workshop is to further develop an interest in the Georgia Tech scientific community in PV challenges and opportunities.

This workshop will conduct a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) analysis of the Georgia Tech scientific community to assess core and potential strengths and identify growth opportunities, and areas of synergy between groups that may not have collaborated previously.

Topics to be addressed during the workshop include:

» Future opportunity areas with scientific/engineering impact (external RFPs, or our own internal initiatives).
» Research opportunities and specific proposals to engage the PV industry
» Areas of technical strength (core strengths, area coverage, critical mass of core faculty and infrastructure, leadership for large scale proposals, gaps/weaknesses).
» Desirable teaming arrangements (internal/external) for developing initiatives, including areas of leadership versus areas of joining teams.
» Opportunities to extend leadership position in PV research
