A March 24 Clery Act Safety Alert made campus aware of a robbery that took place off campus early that morning on Third Street, outside the Apache Café. Three days later, the Atlanta Police Department has made an arrest in the case.

On March 27, the victim of the incident was able to identify Steven Valentine as the perpetrator who forcibly took several hundred dollars in cash. Valentine was transported to Fulton County Jail and charged with robbery.

The Georgia Tech Police Department encourages students to stay vigilant in their personal safety both on and off campus. Avoid walking alone at night, and call GTPD at 404-894-2500 to report suspicious activity.
