The Annual Karlovitz Lecture welcomes Dr. Devon Graham, president of Project Amazonas, who will discuss his aid work in Peru.
Since 1994, tropical biologist Devon Graham has spent extensive time each year in the Peruvian Amazon, and is currently President and Scientific Director of Project Amazonas, a non-profit humanitarian, conservation, and research organization which operates four field stations in the Peruvian Amazon.
Drawing on the experiences, successes and failures of hundreds of volunteers, students, researchers and others, Dr. Graham will explain why he believes that nice guys (and gals) don’t finish last, and that looking out for #1, can, and should be an opportunity to reduce socioeconomic inequities and environmental degradation—to the benefit of all.
