There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Across disciplines at Georgia Tech, a common goal we have for our students is to prepare them to succeed as professionals after graduation. Not only do we hope to graduate highly qualified candidates for the job market, but we know that students tend to be more invested in learning when they expect to use what they learned. As Ambrose et. al. (2010) argue, students are more motivated to learn when course material “interests them or has relevance for important aspects of their lives.”
