About the FSSE
Coordinated by the Indiana University Center for Postsecondary Research, the FSSE is a research study that focuses on faculty perceptions of student learning, academic engagement, the nature and frequency of faculty- student interactions, and the use of effective strategies, collaboration, and diverse perspectives in and out of the classroom. At GT, the FSSE will parallel that of the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), which surveys first-year students and graduating seniors.
Process for the FSSE Administration
The FSSE will be administered to a sample of faculty who taught undergraduate students this academic year. If you are among the selected faculty, you will receive an email from the Office of the Provost inviting you to participate in this web-based survey.
Purpose of the FSSE
In keeping with the Georgia Tech Strategic Plan, the results of the FSSE when combined with student feedback from the NSSE will be used to explore our current approaches to instructional methods, course design, and curricula. Results will also assist in illuminating student and faculty needs, and areas suitable for instructional and curricular innovation.
Confidentiality
To protect your confidentiality, all responses will be reported in aggregate. Faculty responses to the survey will remain anonymous to Georgia Tech. FSSE will not provide any individually identifiable information to Georgia Tech, nor will Georgia Tech know which faculty chose to participate in the survey.
