There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

The Georgia Peace and Justice Coalition's Drone Task Force and Georgia WAND invite you to participate in a round table discussion about the application and ownership of technology, research and knowledge in society. We will explore topics around how scientific research is used and has been used, with a special focus on the development of unmanned aerial vehicles and autonomous robots going on right here at Georgia Tech, though the conversation will not be limited to this topic. The discussion will include questions like:
1) How would you, as students of the sciences, like the knowledge and research that you produce to be applied to world around you?
2) Who should the products of knowledge and research belong to and why?
3) What should our responsibility be, as students and workers in the sciences, if our work is not being used in the ways we would hope for?
4) Does is matter who profits from this work?
This respectful discussion will allow Georgia Tech students and faculty to share opinions and learn from each other about these topics. Please RSVP to emilia@georgiawand.org. All are welcome to attend.
