There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Former Georgia Tech Associate Professor Mike Massimino will be part of a seven-person crew set to perform maintenance and repairs to the Hubble Space Telescope. Massimino - who who previously made a Hubble service run in 2002 - and his fellow crew are scheduled to take flight on the space shuttle Atlantis on May 11 for what is touted as the last shuttle mission to the Hubble.
A member emeritus of the ISyE Advisory Board, Massimino has been using Twitter to post updates on his training and the Hubble mission. He aims to post at least a few updates during his excursion. He can be followed at Astro_Mike on Twitter.
