Hundreds of students, faculty, and art enthusiasts will gather in the Clough Commons tonight for the opening of Georgia Tech’s annual, juried art show - the 3rd annual Clough Art Crawl.

From 4 p.m. – 8 p.m., the popular learning commons will transform into an art gallery featuring poetry/spoken word, photography, painting, film, music performances, sculpture, and much more by Tech undergraduate and graduate students. The art will remain on display in the building until March 15.

“Tech students have many talents and art is definitely one of them,” said Tearanny Street, chair of the Clough Art Crawl committee. "They’re launching start-ups, conducting research, and yes, creating art in the little spare time they can find.”

The Art Crawl serves as the closing reception for the Tech Arts Festival, an annual showcase of the creative spirit through student and faculty performances, events, and exhibitions sponsored by the Office of the Arts. The reception starts at 5:30 p.m. Throughout the night, jurors will select the best work in each category. Winners will be announced the following week and receive a cash prize of $100. Everyone who attends can vote for the People’s Choice Award during the event.

After the art is removed on March 15, Clough Commons visitors will have the ability to view the art using an iPad.

RNOC also developed the official Clough Art Crawl mobile site that allows anyone to browse and locate every piece of art in the building by using a mobile device. Visit m.art.clough.gatech.edu to view the mobile site.
