Dr. Christine Ries has received a grant from the Friedman Foundation for Educational Choice to describe the 'flipped classroom' model as it is developing in her classroom and several others at Georgia Tech. The study will identify the new educational technologies and support applications that are emerging from a range of small, innovative, start-up ventures. Three Ed Tech entrepreneurs who support class 'flippers' at Tech participated in a panel discussion in her class at Tech last semester. They will be featured in the study.
The study will also describe the innovation pathways by which these technologies and pedagogies are likely to deliver the greatest transformation in educational effectiveness for the largest numbers of students.
