There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Full Summary:

Makeup classes will be voluntary, but faculty are advised to adhere to this schedule if makeup sessions are needed.

Due to campus closures the week of Feb. 10, a makeup schedule has been implemented for faculty to use if needed. Classes can meet during allotted time slots from March 3-14 to make up for instructional class time. The full makeup schedule and details are available on the Provost’s website.

Week one will provide meeting times for classes that meet on a Tuesday-Thursday schedule. Week two will provide for classes on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule. For those that do not meet in standard time blocks, they’ll use the one that most closely matches their regular meeting time. Bonus/conflict times have been allotted for courses that meet at non-standard times, need an additional meeting time, or for breakout/study sessions.

These additional meeting times are voluntary and will be used by faculty if needed. Other means of making up instruction outside of makeup classes are at the discretion of the faculty. The makeup period spans 11 days and uses 19 evening periods and 9 weekend periods. Spring break, including the weekends before and after, will not be affected by the makeup schedule.

Other academic calendar changes were made in response to campus closures. The deadline to report midterm grades for progress reports and the deadline for students to drop individual classes were each extended by one week. Faculty should now report midterm progress reports by noon on Friday, Feb. 21. Students now have until Friday, March 7, to withdraw from individual courses and receive a “W.” Both calendar.gatech.edu and registrar.gatech.edu have been updated to reflect these changes.
