Due to campus closures the week of Feb. 10, the Registrar’s Office has altered the academic calendar for the Spring 2014 semester.
The deadline to report midterm grades for progress reports and the deadline for students to drop individual classes have both been extended by one week. Faculty should now report midterm progress reports by noon on Friday, Feb. 21. Students now have until Friday, March 7, to withdraw from individual courses and receive a “W.” Both calendar.gatech.edu and registrar.gatech.edu have been updated to reflect these changes.
The Registrar’s Office, in conjunction with the Provost’s Office, is examining the need for a make-up class schedule and will issue future notifications about any such measures that are put in place.
“The situation remains fluid,” said Colin Potts, vice provost for undergraduate education. “We appreciate the support of students, faculty, and staff as we try to compensate for these disruptions.”
The Registrar’s Office will identify those classes most affected by the campus closures and develop a standard make-up schedule as needed. Faculty has been asked to delay scheduling individual make-up times until guidelines are provided, and both students and faculty are asked to maintain flexibility as a schedule is developed and implemented.
