LMC 3403: Technical Communication emphasizes workplace communication and helps third- and fourth-year undergraduates learn strategies for creating effective technical artifacts. It also helps students learn strategies for communicating with diverse audiences. Although many of the instructors have experience teaching rhetoric, composition, and technical writing, they also often have scholarly backgrounds and interests in the humanities, such as literature and creative writing.
In this event, three teachers will demonstrate how their humanities experiences strengthen and enhance their pedagogy, and they will illustrate how they use the humanities to help students become effective communicators in a variety of technical and business settings.
Refreshments will be served.
