The reading will be held in the conservatory (greenhouse) behind the mansion. The Callanwolde Fine Arts Center is located at 980 Briarcliff Road, NE, Atlanta, GA 30306. Free refreshments and a booksigning will follow the reading. Arrive early for the best parking, which is also free. Admission is $5 for general admission and $3 for students, seniors and members. Robert E. Wood received a PhD at the University of Virginia and has taught at Georgia Tech since the late 1970s
. His chapbooks
-- Gorizia Notebook and
Sleight of Hand -- were published by Finishing Line Press, and his poetry collection
The Awkward Poses of Others by WordTech. He is also the author of
Some Necessary Questions of the Play, a study of
Hamlet.
Wood is joined by
Kodac Harrison, who has made over 16 recordings of his original music and spoken word
. The Turtle and the Moon, a book of his poems, song lyrics and paintings, was published in 2013 by Poetry Atlanta Press. He also hosts the Java Monkey Speaks poetry readings in downtown Decatur on Sunday nights.
