Georgia Tech’s Atlanta campus will close today at 1:30 p.m. due to a winter weather warning covering much of the metro Atlanta area.
Classes are canceled (including the Scheller College of Business Evening MBA classes) and no employees are to report to work at either campus, with the exception of those previously designated as "emergency essential" by their departments or otherwise instructed by their supervisors.
On the Atlanta campus, other services including Dining and Transportation will announce emergency plans later and will post via social media and their websites. Dining information can be found on Twitter (twitter.com/GTDining) and at http://www.gatechdining.com. Parking information can be found on Twitter (twitter.com/gt_park_trans) and at http://www.pts.gatech.edu. The Campus Recreation Center will operate on normal hours.
The Georgia Tech Police Department’s Office of Emergency Preparedness will monitor conditions throughout the evening so that leadership can determine the status of campus opening on Wednesday.
Any updates or changes to normal campus operations will be posted to the Georgia Tech website (gatech.edu) as well as its Facebook page (facebook.com/georgiatech) and its Twitter account (twitter.com/georgiatech).
