The European Union is widely regarded as a “regulatory superpower” (The New York Times, 19 October 2013: A1). This workshop will focus on the EU's active efforts, both bilateral and multilateral, to shape regulations beyond its borders. It thus intersects with a number of prominent debates about the EU as a global actor about global rule-making.
