As part of an ongoing review of campus accessibility, President Bud Peterson has commissioned an internal study to ensure that Georgia Tech is providing all individuals with disabilities an inclusive, welcoming and supportive campus environment.

He has asked Tech’s Office of Strategic Consulting to review existing services provided and the effectiveness of service delivery, specifically as they relate to section 35 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). During the next few months, the review team will gather data through interviews and feedback. Primary units include Campus Services, Information Technology, Facilities, Student Affairs and the Athletic Association.

“A commitment to ADA compliance is inherent in Georgia Tech’s core values, but given the Institute’s complex, distributed and entrepreneurial campus environment, compliance oversight can be a challenge,” Peterson said. “Studies like this are important to help identify any gaps in the effective coordination and accommodation of everyone who visits the Tech campus.”
