A sense of touch makes robots more 'human'

There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. Researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology led by Charlie Kemp (BME) are developing robots with a sense of touch. They have produced artificial skin that works with computer software to allow robots to physically interact with humans and, as Ben Gruber reports, one man is already seeing the benefits.
