Full Summary:

As we look forward to the winter break and celebrating time with friends and family, those timeless (and often quite entertaining) traditions come to life to help us get in the holiday spirit. We asked a few staff in the Division about what traditions they celebrate over the holidays. Interestingly enough, there is a common theme throughout the Division – everybody loves a little Christmas Vacation!

Bill Scafer: One of our fun traditions over the holidays is to get the fireplace going and as a family watch the movie Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase. Even though we have watched it many times over the years, it has us laughing till it hurts! Being together at home, living at a slower pace, and having a good laugh is so nice this time of the year.

Colleen Riggle: On Christmas Eve at 8'oclock we watch A Christmas Story and open one gift which is usually pajamas.  At the first commercial, we all change into our new jammies!

Tawanna Wilson: I enjoy setting up my Winterland Village at work!

Rachael Pocklington: Growing up, my mom would always play the album (at a rather high volume) Christmas with the Chipmunks on Christmas morning. When I got older, I bought the CD so that I could also share this “experience” with my family. It makes me smile every year!

Jenna Farmer: My family and I always get together during the holiday season to watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. My brother and I even drink eggnog out of the moose head cups from the movie to keep it extra authentic and festive.

Tiffiny Hughes-Troutman: On Christmas Eve, my husband and I help our three children bake and decorate homemade Christmas cookies. The kids are allowed to load lots of icing on top and eat one of their choosing!

Debbie Dorsey: My family of 30+ (mom, siblings, nieces, nephews and their families) meet back home in Illinois every year and celebrate the holidays with the kids opening gifts, adults exchanging white elephant gifts and ALL watching Christmas Vacation!  Last year my brother even got the white v-neck sweater and black dickie that cousin Eddie wears in the movie and moose mugs too!
