There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. The Center for Biologically Inspired Design is glad to present Dr. Adam Summers, Associate Director of the University of Michigan's Friday Harbor Labs, as part of its seminar series. Dr. Summers will present "Sharks, Sand, and Sticky Fish - Prospecting for Biomaterials in the Sea." Dr. Summer's research brings together the fields of biology, materials design and manufacturing. He strives to understand the effects of material properties on the form and function of organisms.
