This is a special edition for ISEA2012, and Gaskins was invited to write about the STEMArts workshop she co-facilitated with Digital Media grad student Laurie Marion. Sponsored by Intel, 516 Arts, ISEA2012 and the City of Albuquerque, this workshop served as preliminary work towards Gaskins' research which includes the upcoming NSF-sponsored Advancing STEM Through Culturally Situated Arts-Based Learning that will take place next year.
