There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. This hands-on session will cover the basic features of a WordPress site. Emphasis will be placed on utilizing WordPress to create an online presence for graduate students -- including use of WordPress to highlight academic and research accomplishments. Students will set up a practice site on the Library server, and learn to navigate the Dashboard options. Addition and formatting of text, images, videos and files will be included. Locating, installing and customizing Themes, Plug-ins, Custom Menus and other widgets will be covered. Information on service providers for hosting their sites will be provided, along with additional help resources and source sites for plug-ins and widgets.
Space is first come, first served, but priority is given to those who have registered.
